Building Purchase:
On Thursday, Jan. 6, Friends received keys to our new site at 1093 Lee Road from Plumas Unified School District and officially became a building owner! We are all so excited for this opportunity to begin housing and caring for animals again in a safe space. Volunteers gathered just a few days later and started the cleaning process—wiping away spider webs, cutting computer cords, washing windows and connecting in a physical way with the building that will house our future animal charges. It was amazing to see the change with seven people working for only a few hours. Much more needs to be done before we can house and accept animals: wall repairs and painting, updating heating and plumbing, new doors and windows, but we are making great progress every day! In addition to the building makeover, our Special Use Permit from the County needs to be finalized before we can accept animals.
A huge heartfelt THANK YOU to Dave Heppler and everyone who has supported us this past year to make the our dream a reality. We realize with everything that happened in our county our rescue could have been forgotten. We appreciate all your financial and emotional support through this challenging time. For the good of the animals.
