FRIENDS is completely run and supported by the volunteer hours put in by our Board and animal care volunteers, and through the generosity of many. No one receives a salary at FRIENDS.
How Can You Help FRIENDS continue to be a valuable resource and asset for our Community?
* VOLUNTEER!
FRIENDS is always eager to welcome new volunteers! Volunteer opportunities include helping with daily chores at the shelter, loving and socializing new animals, adoptions, grant writing, fund raising, and yard maintenance.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please fill out the Volunteer Application and we will contact you regarding next steps. (Anyone under 18 years of age will need to have an adult accompany them to volunteer).
* DONATE!
FRIENDS relies on donations to keep our shelter thriving and able to provide high quality care for our animals in need. We provide numerous options for you to share in our vision:
* Automatic deposit (for Plumas Bank account holders only at this time):
Making a recurring monthly donation is a great way to ensure that FRIENDS has the necessary funds to cover the expenses of our day to day operations. Please click here for the form which you will fill out and take to your Plumas Bank branch.
* By mail:
You can mail your donation to P.O. Box 182 , Quincy, CA 95971.
* In person:
The shelter, located at 1093 Lee Road, Quincy, CA is open from 11 am – 3 pm Tuesday – Sunday (Closed Mondays). We would love to see you!
And if you are wanting to get more creative with your gift, here are what some of our past donors have done:
* Gift certificate from a local vendor such as Pet Country in Quincy to be used for quality wet food, wood pellets for litter, kitten milk replacer and other staples we use in the rescue.
* Gift certificate from Chewy or Petco to purchase toys for the animals.
* Donate an item or towards an item on our wish list.
Wish List
Our primary wishes right now are:
* Replacement of our roof – Recent inspections concluded that the roof needs to be replaced in 1-2 years. We are planning to replace the aging composite roof with a metal roof and will need lots of community support for it to happen.
* Replacement of the exterior siding – Parts of the exterior siding are in a state of decline. Repairing/replacing and repainting are a priority that we hope to accomplish in the next 1-3 years.
