Friends End Of Year Letter
November 2025
Dear Friends and Supporters,
2025 has been a whirlwind event for our rescue, Friends of Plumas
County Animals. We have accomplished so much this year- putting a
root on the rescue building and most recently having fascia and siding
repaired and the whole building painted. Some of our volunteers have
offered to have an artist paint a mural on the East wall and it has turned out beautifully. A bit more "spit and polish" and
the rescue building will be at its optimal visually and functionally.
Friends has also produced, with PAWS, two Spayathons in 2025. We
have just completed the second event for 2025. In 2025 174
Spayathon cats, from all towns in the county, were spayed, neutered,
given vaccines and returned to their home sites. The total number of
cats altered in the 5 Spayathons since March 2023 is now 377 felines:
Friends has also been doing TNR work between the Spayathon events
and have altered another 198 cats with rescue funds. A total of 577
cats TNR'd!
All the while these improvements and events have been happening we
have been and are still, caring for a full complement of animals in
house. Currently the number is close to 30 guests and we have been
at full capacity almost all of the year. Seems like kitten season is
happening all year long now-not just spring and fall- and it has kept
volunteers busy and the rescue costs without reprieve.
As the holiday season comes upon us we are asking for generosity
and kindness in your donation. If you have donated already please
know we are extremely grateful for your help and every dollar is going
to improve the welfare of the animals. No one at Friends get a salary
and all monies go towards food, care, housing and veterinary costs for
the kittens and cats at Friends.
Together, we have created a safe haven for all those who come into
our facility-people and cats alike- and we are proud of the work being
done. Work done WITH YOUR HELP!!
Wishing you and your family health and happiness this holiday season
and in the new year to come.
